TRUCK STRIKE 2008

You want free labour for your company just call a truck driver!We will not only deliver your load but if requested(or forced by your company we will not only sort,break down pallets if stacked to high for your likeing or as a last resort we will gladly pay for a lumper out of our own pocket).We activety support the underground economy by paying lumpers cash,so they don't have the inconvience of paying taxes or your company has to make all the payroll deductions.Why in this day and age drivers/ow/op are still falling for this is beyond me.Futher the D.O.T should step make illegal for drivers/ow/op to spend hours doing manual labour because some company is too cheap to hire somebody to unload a truck or too dumb to tell the shipper to only put 5 boxes high to the skid instead of 8 or only 1 product per skid.Gordon Food Service,Milton,Ontario,Skor Foods Concord,Ontario Loblaws,Toronto,Ontario

Conflict of Interest ?

The O.P.P. patrols the 407 these patrols include enforcing the highway traffic act,speeding,accidents etc.This is reasonable but what I can't understand is why a taxpayer funded police force is in fact collecting tolls for a privately held company?The O.P.P. watch for heavy trucks not displaying a transponder and will stop and ticket them.Collection of tolls would be a civil matter,so how does our provincal government justifiy a taxpayer funded police force collecting tolls for a private company.Taxpayers should be actively contacting their M.P.P.'s and asking them why their tax dollars are helping a private company to collect tolls!
